The main character of the strip! He’s always ready for action! He likes taking on different roles, such as a detective who never admits when his assistant solves a case first, a superhero who happens to be afraid of heights, or a fisherman who can never seem to catch a fish.

Tiggy, Targy’s curious younger brother, usually accompanies Targy on his many adventures. Tiggy looks up to Targy but sometimes manages to unintentionally outsmart him.

Introduced as Targy’s pet egg, Eggbert eventually hatches into a dodo bird and quickly decides that he is nobody’s pet. Despite a vocabulary consisting almost entirely of “Squawk!”, Eggbert is fiercely independent and seems capable of doing just about anything. He has been a professor at Tiggy’s dog training school and has even commanded an army of 1,000 origami cranes. He’s become one of the most essential characters for the strip’s identity and humor.
